The Pogues' Philip Chevron loses battle to cancer

After being diagnosed with throat cancer six years ago, Phillip Chevron of legendary Irish punk band The Pogues, passed away today. He was 56. He will best be remembered as a punk pioneer for the small green country, and behind staples like “Thousands Are Sailing”, he radically put The Pogues at the forefront of the late 80s music scene in his signature dapper hat. He will be missed.
