Theophilus is back from holiday

Lovers Holiday

After the I Want You mixtape, Theophilus London began a jet-setting journey that led him to calypso in Trinidad and dancing to Stevie Wonder in Brussels. By “Fatal Attraction” he was moonwalking in a night club to his music played at a house music pace that could have placed him Paris, Berlin, Manhattan or even Chicago.

Wherever it was that Theophilus had traveled to after the exile of I Want You, he's back from abroad to share some slides on the projector and sing about his Lovers Holiday. The first single from the upcoming mixtape is retro-fitted 80's synth-pop called “Why Even Try” that treds on territory that's either as funky as Hall & Oates or as kitschy as Paula Abdul – your call. Whichever the case, it's only a matter of time before we're all shopping for leg warmers in Urban Outfitters to this jam and grooves like this will only encourage me to leave with bag fulls of neon warmth.
