Young Mammals Announce New Album Jaguar, Premiere Title Track

Post Author:

Houston’s catchy, power-pop collective Young Mammals – comprised of Carlos Sanchez, Jose Sanchez, Cley Miller, and Justin Terrell – is getting the good prepared for their November 11th release. That’s right. Young Mammals is coming back with another – brilliantly composed, we’re sure – LP titled Jaguar next month. We’ve got the exclusive premiere of the title track right here.

Strong guitar riffs, a catchy round of percussion, and then the upbeat, higher pitched vocals that we have come to expect from Young Mammals come in. It’s a mid-tempo track, weaving an intricate narrative with lyrics like “my baby’s a jaguar” and “she’ll sink her teeth in / drive you crazy” making the song itself sound like a backhanded compliment. I mean, I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t like to be recognized as a jaguar. But if she’s driving you crazy, then maybe that’s a bad thing?

Either way, the song itself feels like a slow down for the cold weather, and we’re going to play it on repeat tonight while enjoying red wine and doing chores alongside the cat. (Because this is one of those tracks you can listen to while being a badass like that.)

Jaguar is out November 11th. Keep up to date with the fellas here.
