NME stakes Effi Briest in one sentence

By Jeremy Krinsley » Because Britain is more than wine gummies and knife thrusts

Effi Briest, one of our favourite Brooklyn bands, are blowing up in Great Britain. Here's a string of publicity in UK rags, including the Guardian, Plan B and that most eager of taste-making tabloids, NME. We could not be happier for one of the most talented and unusual acts playing today.

Britain's been known to get trend-happy in the past. In fact, we're not surprised that NME spends an indecent portion of its article talking about how Effi Briest should not be described as a coven. This, friends, is a rhetorical device as old as the Greeks*. We just hope people see past those broom sticks the girls usually ride to gigs on.
