Talbot Tagora, Lessons In The Woods Or A City

Talbot Tagora, Lessons In The Woods Or A City

It's been a while since we heard a band that sets their speed on effortless and can convincingly glide through three minute atonal scorchers that'd make Gibby Haynes and Thurston Moore proud, that doesn't cater in the simple blisses of a 1-4-5 progression, a slithery surf lines, or anything remotely tropical, and that doesn't slip across any lines into metal: this is messy, loud rock music and in all its heaviness and lack of airy, breezy fun, it feels so refreshing right now.

We've loved Talbot Tagora a relatively long time, but we're throwing their Lessons In The Woods Or A City on our best music of 2009 list.
