Open Mike Eagle & Ras G, "Warhorn"
» Help the LA artists teach the truth to the Ugandan youth.
It might be too coincidental to declare philanthropy as "trending" in the indie world, but last week we reported Power Animals' donation per $2 earned project with Philabundance. This week it's rap artists traveling to Uganda to spread hip hop culture.
Hellfyre Club recording artist Open Mike Eagle and Brainfeeder recording artist Ras G have been selected by J.U.I.C.E., an LA hip-hop non-profit organization, to travel to the African nation of Uganda to teach a hip hop culture program and record a project with Ugandan rap artists. Partially funded by a grant from the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, the project can only take flight if the artists can raise $7,000 to match the department's grant.
To encourage your philanthropy, Open Mike Eagle and Ras G recorded "Warhorn", a song written to introduce us to the potential chemistry between the two artists, a chemistry that could be further explored in Uganda.
