Ossining

We're going to go out on a limb and assume this project shares the same name as a metropolis on the Hudson in Westchester for a reason.

A collaboration between Brad Rose (the North Sea) and Kevin Danchisko (Sovetskaya Gone), the two 10+ minute halves of Ossining's smoldering self-titled cassette are the Folgers instant coffees of ambient synth excursions: easy to make, with that extra kick in the pants that gets you out of bed in the morning, and those bad ass flavor crystals too.

The first half slides somber and slow beneath a trundling, major synth melody that freaks out into tweaked out time-breaking tape ejaculations. The second side descends into the deep end of drone disturbed by fluttering synth arpeggios that sound like oxygen bubbling up to to the atmosphere above.

The tape, made in a series of 70 on Digitalis, is sold out. Beg them for a digital version or use a search engine.
