The Pheromoans snot-rocket from across the pond
»
The Pheromoans have an unfair advantage in their summer 7" track "The Man Who Wolf Whistled" in that they are from London, (or Gatwick Airport, claims their Myspace), and so the muttering narration about ordering a salad at a restaurant doesn't have to try too hard to sound like John Cale reading "The Gift". Between the surf rock "Penis Envy 96" and shuffling John Dwyer vs. Art Brut of the A-Side's "Revamp" the band seems to have a few catchy starting spots for their garage rock angle.
Look out for a tape this month on Night People, a 7" on Yakisana, and a full length release on Convulsive in 2010.

Is it really so offensive to lump Welsh accents with British Airport accents?

John Cale is Welsh.
