In honor of Dallas alternative collective Northern National’s new single “MoneyBlind”, the band has pieced together a playlist just in time for Memorial Day weekend. The playlist, titled “Lakes 4 Days”, will really get you in the holiday weekend mood. Check it out here.
1. The Breakup – LANY (LANY is still one of our favorite bands currently putting out music. You can’t listen without dancing.)
2. I Like Me Better – Lauv (We just discovered Lauv recently. Something about young love always gets us.)
3. The Outfield – The Night Game (When John Mayer recommends a band… we listen. So should you.)
4. MoneyBlind – Northern National (Insert MoneyBlind emoji here)
5. On + Off – Maggie Rogers (There’s something about the tone of Maggie’s voice that just puts you at ease.)
6. Cross My Mind – A R I Z O N A (We still can’t get enough of this jam. We dare you to not sing along.)
7. Talk To Me – Nightly (Talk to me… talk to me… talk to me… & REPEAT.)
8. Perfume – SHAED (Funny enough, we discovered SHAED just recently! Kanne had actually been following Chelea’s career back when she was a solo artist and had been a fan since then. However this SHAED is a jam and we are now forever a fan.)
9. hold on – Flor (Just keep jamming, our heads are bobbing too.)
10. Blue Jean Baby – ILUKA (ILUKA’s range is just plain crazy. We are pretty sure she sings not only higher than must guys we know… but also lower. Also, we were singing that chorus by the second go around.)
11. Hotels (Tk) – Mr. Carter Davis (Carter is actually a local Dallas bud of ours. However, we are including him because this song makes us FEEL.
12. Tired of Talking – LEON (The voice, the lyrics, the bass, the whistle. We are into it all.)
13. Don’t Act Like a Stranger – Cathedrals (1…2…3… DANCE BREAK)
14. My Thoughts on You – The Band CAMINO (We couldn’t leave out these boys. Not only are they some of our favorite people to tour with… they are also very sexy humans.)
15. Everyday – Connor Youngblood (One of our first shows ever as songwriters was at a Sofar Sounds show with Connor. Not only is he the nicest human alive – this song will leave you with a smile and that’s how we want you to end this playlist.)
Catch Northern National on tour with Blue October this summer.
