R.I.P. Roc Raida of the X-Ecutioners
»
Over the weekend Roc Raida, legendary DJ champion and member of the cut-tastic turntablist group the X-Ecutioners died of complications arising from a spinal injury.
Besides being one of the illest DJs, most notably incorporating body tricks into his spin routines, Roc Raida also toured as a DJ for Busta Rhymes. He is survived by his wife and three daughters. Nothing more needs to be said, just watch this video of his routine at the 1995 DMC Championships:
Or this video of his "ninja of rap routine" at the 1996 DMC U.S. Championships:

Thank you Thank you Thank you, Blake for making this post!! I remember when i was in junior high I recorded this 2 minute performance of the x-ecutioners live at the DMC championships off Rap City on BET. I watched that 2 minute performance dozens of times for months and eventually bought turntables largely in part because of that 2 minute piece of footage. Roc Raida is truely a legend and I am going to love going back and watching all these videos of his on Youtube and listening to his records for years to come.
