» Here's something cold and gloomy for those of you acclimating to months of frozen winter. For the rest of you, go listen to Best Coast.
Rotten Tropics is 20-year old Jakub Tywoniuk, an Ontario bedroom gloomster with an avowed devotion to "Skinny Puppy, JG Ballard, and New French Extremist cinema."
This may or may not help you see where this is going. "Bukowski" is off a tape he self-released under his shoebox label last year, and its dystopian mumbling and steely, hollow guitar lines hint at an industrial complex of the mind droning along towards an inevitable fall out or mid-twenties crisis.
Look out for a new tape later this year.
