Tim Cohen's birthday present to himself
» He hires himself as the magician at the birthday party as well.
We've got good news and more good news regarding Tim Cohen's (operating as Magic Trick) latest offering entitled The Glad Birth Of Love. Part one of the good news is the limited edition format is still available through Empty Cellar's store. The limited edition version comes in an elegant old-style tip-on jacket with a 11x22 poster. Part two of the good news is the record will see a proper release in August, so even if you miss out on scoring 1 of a 100 special packages, this fine piece of musicianship will not pass you by entirely.
We understand that prolific writing can be overwhelming and even inspire skepticism, but one listen to all 7-minutes of "Daylight Moon" should put those worries to bed. The 45-minute duration of The Glad Birth Of Love is separated into four epic tracks, making Magic Trick an obvious departure from Cohen's usual format of radio-ready songs. The record features contributions from a slew of San Francisco musicians that includes John Dwyer (Thee Oh Sees),Grace Cooper (The Sandwitches) and Diego Gonzalez (The Dry Spells, Citay), among others.
The Glad Birth Of Love is out August 23 on Empty Cellar Records.
