Watch: The Pomegranates

The Pomegranates confirm a lingering belief that if New York is doing it now, Ohio will embrace it five years later.

Finally some good has come from Cincinnati!

The jangly, rocking quintet known as The Pomegranates sound like a time capsule from the days we swore by Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and Harlem Shakes (who still got it, damn it) as purveyors of indie rock. Better late than never though, as The Pomegranates are much like the fruit of its moniker -- delicious with bursts of sweet flavor.

I have yet to hear a complaint about the fruit and I expect nothing less in critiquing the band.

Remember Bruce Springsteen's "Dancing In The Dark" video? Remember that silly dance he did with a boyish Courtney Cox? And that lively saxophonist? Of course, you don't. You're 15.

to be fair, Harlem Shakes were part of a pre-Vampire Weekend world. but it is a shame their return is in the midst of a post-vampirony weekend terrain.
