Psych-rock masterminds Wooden Shjips announced today that they'll be releasing their next album, Back to Land, on November 12 through Thrill Jockey. The first of their five full-lengths to be recorded outside of San Francisco, the title itself contains a tongue-in-cheek shoutout to the city of its birth, Portland, the city where the Shjips' Ripley Johnson moved to last year. The record announcement comes with a smattering of tour dates (some with other psych stars Purling Hiss) and a funny little teaser video that razzes on that announcer sound so perfectly, it's throwing us back to a distant time. Watch the trailer below and then keep an eye on Thrill Jockey for preorder links.
