Daft Punk live chat

What better place for 100 or so rabid fans to blow their load with questions for Daft Punk’s Guy-Manuel and Thomas than an internet chat room. The black back drop set the mood, the long pauses from the Punks kept us wanting more? Anyway, we learned there are no plans to tour for 2008 (or play a New Years Party). Also noted:

- it was hard to do summer shows with those helmets on (”like formula one but standing up without water”)
- neither Guy-Manuel nor Thomas will have anything to say to you when you inform them their songs were the soundtrack to your lost virginity
- Pet Sounds is their favorite rock album (collectively, we guess)
- people calling themselves TechnoSexMonkey can still show up in chat rooms with Italians who TYPE AT U HAVE BAD GRAMMAR IN CAPITAL LETTERS
-”all this technology gadgets are fun yeah”

Discovery is a one off. So many great albums have been one-offs. Daft punk (in my eyes) have full-on lost it with every album since discovery. Maybe they were only meant to produce one great album. I dont know. Facing facts i would say nothin since has been any good compared. the first album is one of very few which will pass the test of time, ie. people looking back in 50 years and saying ‘oh that was the year harder, better, faster, stronger blew many peoples minds and then got covered by some leeching hip-hop artiste who couldnt even create his own loops. Much disrespect to all so called ‘artistes’ who plaugerise existing tracks. Modern music sucks.

      @ William.
How can you say that Daft Punk have lost it. it seems you know nothing about them.
      1. Discovery was not their first album. Homework Was.
      2. Yes Kanye West’s Stronger is a piece of crap, but Daft Punk used quite a lot of samples in discovery and so you cannot make a statement against sampling, thats what created those iconic songs on discovery.
      3. Many people disliked human after all as it was very different. From the alive tour people began realizing that Human After All does connect with Discovery and Homework.
Daft Punk in no way have lost anything. and i will be keen to hear the sounds of the next album they release. (Yes they are making one)
