We texted a regular Beastie Boy percussionist to see if he was in town for South by Southwest and this is what he said:

I wish! Good to hear from you. Have fun out there. Money mark and Tommy Guerrero are out there. In fact everyone is out there except for me.

Plus, we heard a fat dude with a camera screaming “The Beastie Boys are in town! The Beastie Boys!” to his cell phone.
