BØRNS, "God Save Our Young Blood Feat. Lana Del Rey"

Post Author: Amanda Silberling

Lana Del Rey has been no stranger to collaboration lately, with artists from A$AP Rocky to Stevie Nicks appearing on last year’s Lust for Life. Next up on her list of collaborators is BØRNS, the Platinum-selling electropop artist who will release Blue Madonna, the follow-up to his acclaimed debut album Dopamine, next week.
After “God Save Our Young Blood Feat. Lana Del Rey” was selected as the first Beats 1 World Record of the new year, BØRNS revealed to Beats1 DJ Matt Wilkinson that he met Lana Del Rey through her sister Chuck, who photographed promotional material for Blue Madonna. Despite their chance meeting, BØRNS’ solemnly romantic music could have been made for the baroque pop crooner – BØRNS’ seamless movement between classical (see: the After Dark Sessions) and electronic arrangements display the same versatility that earned Lana Del Rey acclaim with her own debut, Born to Die. So naturally, “God Save Our Young Blood” is a billowing dreamscape, set apart by the discrete key changes and harmonious duets in its smooth refrain.
“God Save Our Young Blood” is the opening track on Blue Madonna, due out January 12 on Interscope Records. Stream the song below, and order the album here.
