“Why can’t I let this go?” sings Jordy Towers on SomeKindaWonderful’s latest haunting track, “Lion.” With strong hints of dark pop artists like Jon Bellion and The Neighbourhood, Towers’ vocals are sultry and enticing, hard to turn away from. The synths quickly set in, provided by the other half of SomeKindaWonderful, producer Nikolai Potthoff. A quick transition from acoustic to electric only mirrors the band’s background, the two having met at a bar in Cleveland, OH– they wrote “Reverse” that same night.
