Photos by Chester Gwazda, Greg Saint Pierre, Denny Bowen, and Greg Fox » Dan Deacon's touring ensemble lived through a few breakdowns (of the bus, not the band members), Satan worshippers, a sink hole, trailer parks and snarky caption writing, but before it was over, our Chicago correspondent Will Deitz checked up on their vital stats. For Deacon, leading a big group of performers nightly (instead of simply himself) was like "wearing pants your whole life and then getting a really comfy robe." Please enjoy as Dan Deacon slips inevitably into the third person while recounting his Spring 2009 tour.

Our booking agent and tour manager run off to go get supplies while we pack the bus to head off for 7 weeks. (Photo: GSP)

The ride up to New York from Baltimore kicked up and let loose a world of gunk inside the tanks and fuel system of the bus causing the fuel lines to clog and not be able to run. Sam and Ray are syphoning out the filthy mix of diesel, waste veggie oil, and gunk. (Photo: GF)

Now that the tanks have been drained makeshift filters are being fashioned to clean the oil to be put back into the tanks. My favorite part about this photo is how insane Sam looks. (Photo: CG)

We were supposed to be keeping a tour photo blog this whole time but its been such an insanely busy and tight packed schedule that we thought it would be best to wait until the last days to start working on it! Here is it!
