EMA, Downtown Boys, and Owel at Rough Trade

Post Author: , Eric Phipps

On Friday, May 9th, EMA and Downtown Boys wrapped up the final leg of their tour together by playing Brooklyn's Rough Trade with post-rock group Owel. Downtown Boys whent from terrifying the audience with a chant of “fuck NYPD” to winning over converts who started a rather unexpected mosh pit. EMA's set intermingled tracks from both Past Life Martyred Saints and The Future's Void while still doing the same ritualistic gestures we've seen her do live during “California.” EMA also included a cover of Bikini Kill's “Feels Blind” as the first song of her encore.

EMA continues to mature as an artist & performer.
