Joe Perez caught up after the Hillstock halftime show for the second part of Hillstock night one, a three-day festival that featured a mountain of bands playing from the late afternoon well into the evening throughout the weekend. It was probably one of the last chances to see a knew-them-when Screaming Females show, but there were plenty of newbies promising to fill any vacancies the Females’ Jack White affair may cause, with Spooktober’s catchy tunes, the rabble roused by No Courage, and Eskalators (the chicken shwarma to Atlanta’s Dark Meat) providing a few new avenues.
