Northside 2013: Chance the Rapper at Europa

Post Author:

On Saturday, June 15th, Chicago artist Chance the Rapper played his first ever New York show at Europa which was part of Northside Festival 2013. He got the crowd turned up as he ran through tracks from both his brand new and amazing album Acid Rap and his earlier release 10 Day. The New York crowd was quite young and knew every word to every song no matter how deep the cut. Chance's charisma and energy was inexhaustable as he sang, rapped, danced, emoted and put on a great show. As someone who has been listening to Chance since 10 Day, this was as perfect a show as could be imagined.

Opening for Chance was Lil Kids. The duo's rapper Adam Kane, who took advantage of the free Jameson drinks the day before and therefore performed a very hung over but still crazy set. There was some technical difficulties so he had to switch mics with guest performer Big Muff, but aside from that it was a very good lead in to the headliner. Catch up with Lil Kids here and read our review of Slow Rainbow.

Chance the Rapper’s Acid Rap is great and you should get it.
