Primal Screams with Screaming Females, Guardian Alien, and Priests

On Tuesday, March 15, Clocktower Productions and Times Square Arts presented Primal Screams, which was billed as a raucous night of underground bands with strong female forces. The three acts fitting this description were New Jersey’s Screaming Females, New York’s Guardian Alien, and Washington, DC’s Priests. All three acts played inside AMC Theatres in Times Square within theatre number 13.  Visuals created for the event were projected on a massive screen: Screaming Females featured work by Faye Orlove, Guardian Alien’s featured visuals from Greg & Alex’s trip to Antarctica, and Priests’ video found the band using props found in thrift shops in their hometown. The event also had a zine fair by Paper Jam (which is usually held at Silent Barn) and a DJ set by Cassie Ramone. Photographer Edwina Hay was there to catch the show.

Thanks to Clocktower & Times Square Arts, we saw three great bands in a movie theater in the heart of Times Square.
