Smith Westerns at Glasslands
» Last Tuesday, January 18, The Smith Westerns played a sold out show at Glasslands with Ducktails and Bass Drum Of Death. It felt like the kids from Chicago have finally gone from CMJ and SXSW darlings to real, fully arrived, New York City darlings. The room was packed with booking agents and club bookers and ex-MTV employees. But also with fans who already knew every single word to every single song from Dye It Blonde. The band sounded extra ferocious with a fifth live member, and ripped through a short and fast thirty-five minute set.
