» By Saturday, Austin was a city of party zombies. Or at least I was. A zombie, that is, not a city. But even so, when Fiasco, Ponytail, and locals Follow That Bird took the stage at our day show on the UT campus, I woke up and reveled in good punk rock, and the feeling carried on through other notables to follow like Red Rocket, the Apes, and the Dodos. Back in the thick of the Red River Street feeding frenzy, I found myself at yet another Todd P show, seeing more Brooklyn bands I hadn't had a chance to catch in a while. I wonder if all the kids from, like, Chicago or somewhere, had a whole different closed circuit of local showcases and bands and parties that they kept coming back to that I didn't even know about.
