Glen Hansard and guests play Brooklyn Steel

Sunday night in Brooklyn and there is no room for anyone else at Brooklyn Steel.  Glen Hansard‘s show sold out a long time ago and for a very good reason.  Hansard was on fire, and tore through 3 hours of material old and new, with openers August Wells and special guest David Keenan (who brought the house down).  A magical night amongst friends and music lovers.

Common Jack Live at Arlene’s Grocery

Saturday night on the frigid lower East side of Manhattan at Arlenes Grocery Common Jack took to the stage in front of a packed house.  John Gardner fronts this 5 piece band tonight (Joe Carroll on guitar, Erica Swindell on keys and violin, Harper James on bass, and Dave Scalia on drums).  The indie folk vibe is shining bright for these guys as we were treated to songs old and new as well as some unreleased material.  Their latest single “Restless” (a song about taking a step back an giving yourself a chance to gather your thoughts) is out now on all platforms.  Highlight of the set was “Faded Flag”.  Simply stunning.
