Baked, "Stay"

Post Author: Virginia Croft

For the members of Brooklyn based Baked, the realities of life are nothing new. Their sophomore, Farnham (Exploding In Sound), was named for their dear friend Ken Farnham, who passed away a few years ago. The band was friends with Ken while they attended SUNY Purchase, and the album cover and liner notes feature artwork created by him. It’s a touching homage, and induces an appreciation of the present.
In Baked’s first music video for the very charming “Stay,” the band’s appreciation for now shines through as they are shown playing childhood games with each other. It’s comedic and comforting, watching the members live without regard, simply enjoying each other’s company. Regarding the video, band member Isabella Mingione added “We shot the video in Bay Ridge, very close to where I grew up. I often feel like I’m running through life as an adult child, and wanted the video to reflect that. We can either reject obstacles in our paths or we could make peace with what is already broken.” The track is full of a desire to stay in the present, with delicate vocals and beachy guitar riffs. “Stay” is a necessary reminder to value your pals and hold them close.
