Big Sam’s Funky Nation, “PokeChop”

Andre G

Drake recently reintroduced the masses to the sound of New Orleans Bounce with his “Nice For What” single, but that frenetic soundscape is only one of the sounds that define New Orleans’ rich music scene. Big Sam’s Funky Nation recently incorporated Bounce, Jazz, R&B and more into their recent “PokeChop” single from their upcoming Songs In The Key Of Funk project.

The funky, vibrant track was treated to a video that matched its mood, as the band bounces through the streets of New Orleans. The colorful visual was crafted in part by Black Dragon, who helped the band radiate their fun-loving energy through the lens. The Band members dance and the dancers let it all go to the bounce-inspired portion of the production. Big Sam and the band did a great job of fusing the classic horn-oriented sound of the city with some of the modern sounds.

Songs In The Key Of Funk will be released on May 4th. You can pre-order via iTunes here.
