Birthrates, “Can’t Dance”

Post Author: Meredith Schneider

Born today, Birthrates is a newly named band from Pittsburgh, PA. Following the 2015 release of a debut album from songwriter Kirby Jayes and a year of frequent touring with longtime collaborator Linden Holt, the band today announces their name change as well as September tour dates and a new album. The new record will be available by preorder beginning next week or in person at all shows until its digital release September 17th. The band also released a music video for the album’s first single, “Can’t Dance”, premiering today on Impose. The video is constructed of public domain video clips collected from a self-esteem boosting children’s tape and a dating etiquette instructional for military women released by the US Army in 1970.

Basically, it’s history in the making.
