Captain Morris, “I Know”

Based in Baltimore, Daniel Neiman performs under the moniker Captain Morris. At only 17 years old–and having written music since the age of 7–his music is fueled with his love for Scott Walker, Morrissey, and Duke Ellington. We have the exclusive premiere for the video of his latest track “I Know” here on IMPOSE.

I have one word for this video: peculiar. Everyone is wearing a mask of some sort in the video, whether it is a gas mask or a sack with cut outs on it. Either way, it’s equally as strange. People just go about their lives with the masks, until one person starts punching another and there’s a full on brawl – gas masks vs. sack masks. The gas masks are victorious, and take the sack masks hostage in the trunk of their car and the trunk opens at the end, and every just hangs out together, smoking a cigarette.

Daniel’s voice seems super mature, especially for his age, and it’s nothing short of impressive. We’re fans of the track, and even bigger fans of the interesting–is any of this a commentary on real-life violence?–hilariousness that ensues in this video.
