Christina Vantzou, N°1 Trailer Video by Christina Vantzou

N°1 was a record first, assembled by Christina Vantzou over two meticulous years where the former Sparklehorse and Dead Texan member sat and taught herself to use Reason with a home-made library of orchestral samples. It was released in October of last year by Kranky. But with any project that is so immersive, one imagines more, so Vantzou decided to create a full-length film accompaniment for the record, which premieres tomorrow night (and shows for one night only) at the Spectacle Theater in Brooklyn. The trailer looks very promising, with film collage that reflects the breadth and depth of the musical piece.

(Side tangent: this month's music programming by Spectacle has been really wonderful. What with Diamond Terrifier scoring a William S. Burroughs film and the KARP documentary they premiered, the DIY movie theater should consider doing music films full-time – they are really good at it!)
