Doomsquad, "Ovoo"

The woods are for worshiping.

December 6, 2013

New Age music occupies a strange space in these trapped-out electronic times of ours, often relegated to the proverbial background, faintly playing in spa waiting rooms or tea shops. Such overly literal genres are the first to be taken for granted, and sometimes unjustly. Doomsquad is an example of a group that has the potential to defy cheesy stereotypes, particularly with their new single "Ovoo," along with the accompanying video, off of Kalaboogie, their LP to be released February 2014 on Hand Drawn Dracula. Put it this way: the urban jungle would be nowhere without the witchy woods to daydream about.
