Kate Crash, "How We Play The Game"

Post Author: Virginia Croft

It seems like Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Kate Crash can do anything. She is a producer, filmmaker, entertainer, writer, and multimedia artist. Her music career began in the streets of Tokyo, and has only projected since then. After returning to L.A., producer Nick Launay began to work with Crash, producing 3 EP’s for her that were released under Joan Jett’s Blackheart Records and George Martin’s Grand Master. Currently, Crash’s songs are mixed and engineered by Ethan Kaufmann.
“How We Play The Game” is a harrowing track, with confident vocals, centered on the anguish of relationships. The “will they, won’t they” cat and mouse-esque game reigns king in the song’s backstory, as the accompanying music video demonstrates. With the two lovers, things go from great to downright horrible simultaneously, reminding us of the impermanence that love goes hand in hand with. And heads up to you cubicle folks out there– this video isn’t necessarily safe for work.
Kate Crash’s new album is out this June. Keep up with her here.
