Premiere: Flower Orgy, “Stranded”

{

Letting the heartstrings unravel like a package.

Nostalgia is a powerful emotion that can bleed out in many different ways. Through the video for Flower Orgy's "Stranded", nostalgia feels omnipresent on multiple levels—not only is the song itself so understatedly sweet and pressing, the accompanying video looks like many East Coast winters past, as we goofed around with our friends on snow-encrusted playgrounds. The shoddy VHS-style recording of the playful winter day makes it all the more painful to watch, knowing that we'll never get those days back again. It's touching and tragic and makes our heartstrings tug at spots in our psyche we hadn't been in touch with in a good while.

"Stranded" is a B-side on Flower Orgy's Our Song 7", which is available through Fire Talk here.
