Branches, "Canção para o Luís" Video by Pedro Rios
In this video by Branches, lots of early '90s video footage of people exersizing, or Domino's employees creating their product, or Ninja Turtles consuming what is theoretically the Domino's product, is all overlaid with a dilated projection and filmed. The footage seemed like straighforward collage, but with the overlay it becomes muted in the winds of memory.
"Canção para o Luís" is being released on the Portuguese artist's tape Ninguém É Como Tu, now available on Solid Melts.The song has a Mediterranean-inflected guitar tremoring its way through about six inches of thick reverb and sonic muck to get the surface, bubbling up all pretty and spacey.
