Safe Barracks, “Source De”

Meredith Schneider

London-based duo Safe Barracks – comprised of Patrick O’Keeffe and Kaveh Ayati – is channeling a very different sound space with their music, which they have labeled “cinematic pop”. We’ve got the premiere of the exquisite music video for the second release off their EP Ruminate, titled “Source De”.

Although the video feels like we are observing a Greek god from different angles, it is actually a beautifully shot black and white video of a shirtless man (Samuel Kennedy) displaying his human strength. Set in a field, the space is inhabited simply by this one man and a host of boulders. Slow, detailed interpretive dancing, stretches against a rock, and big, wild movement make this a video you won’t soon forget.

Safe Barracks will be playing a stripped down live set on September 9th. Tickets are available now.

Their EP Ruminate is currently available.
