Saint Marilyn, “Frustrate Me”

Post Author: Meredith Schneider

Brooklyn’s synth-pop duo Saint Marilyn – comprised of Che Houston and Kevin Marksson – release their latest video for the single “Frustrate Me” today. We’ve got the exclusive premiere.

A black backdrop, Marksson’s arms wrapped around Houston as she sings the song while looking at the camera. She portrays the emotion of the lyrics in her facial expressions as shots of a dancer bring an even deeper layer of meaning to the track. Everything is shot under beautiful, warm lighting, while the backdrop and clothing options stay simple and black.

“The premise is to explore the emotion possible behind a calm exterior,” explains Director/DP Lindsey Houston. “The other-worldly visual treatment helps to emphasize that we’re peeking into non-reality—exploring the breadth of thoughts and feelings that can occur in an instant. Our dancer—the extremely talented Zoe Filutowski—emotes all the pain that cannot be shared.”

“Frustrate Me” is available now. Keep up with Saint Marilyn on Facebook.
