Screaming Females, “Empty Head”

Screaming Females, "Empty Head"

Few albums this year have rocked as hard as Screaming FemalesRose Mountain. Even within the record’s front-to-back riotous greatness, “Empty Head” was a standout single. As if we needed a reason to put the song back on repeat, Don Giovanni has finally released its video. This time around, the New Jersey band has gone all Who Framed Roger Rabbit, with animated paper animals parading around a dingy, live-action overpass. The Tobias Stretched-directed video’s drawings are totally homegrown—they’re straight from the pen of Screaming Females’ own Marissa Paternoster. The nausea-inducing camera angles and menacing creepy-crawlies are a perfect compliment to the controlled mayhem of “Empty Head,” and the animated crabs crawling on real-life asphalt are just plain cool.
