Ish of Shabazz Palaces plays a small role as an antagonist in his group's video for "Are You... Can You... Were You? (Felt)", as he nearly runs over the adorable protagonist with his Benz. Just another case of Shabazz Palaces surprising us in their creativity. The treatment follows a young lady on a bike ride home after reflecting in a cabin of African statues. Upon her return home she gets in an argument with her mother over her attire. As Ish delivers his "it's a feeling" refrain, the song takes on new meaning thanks to the work of Maikoiyo Alley-Barnes.
Shabazz Palaces' Black Up is out now on Sub Pop.
