Parties in Alaska seem like the almost normal kind of exurban affairs where everyone just drives over to someone's house, puts tons of beer on the kitchen table, someone has to leave to go pick up the girls who are at another house, and then everyone just gets shitfaced until a fight happens or a pair ends up in someone's bedroom that doesn't belong to them or everyone falls asleep on top of each other in the living room watching a VHS of Big and when someone wakes up in the morning there is only the white fuzz, which echoes the landscape outside. Then you make pancakes.

But maybe this is completely wrong. The only way to find out what it's REALLY like to party in Alaska is to watch this documentary that local sleazenuts SHAMS and DJ Dog Dick made when a couple of kids decided to fly them out there to play some shows in the badlands. The short documentary-ish film screens in full on January 30 at 285 Kent, and judging by the trailer, there is a lot of ice, a lot of madness, and at least 31 different flavors of cold, cold vibes.
