Oakland based artists Cyn M (guitar, vocals) and Andy Z (organ + synthesizers) make up the post-punk duo Silence in the Snow. “Lost Gems” is the latest single off their debut album Break in the Skin.
The video for “Lost Gems”, which was shot and edited by Silence in the Snow, paints a black and white picture of emotion. The dreamy instrumentals pair with shadowy images to create a pulsating vision of what a trance must look like in a visible form. Cyn M’s stirring lyrics pull you into the film to experience what the band has described as “melt dreams”. This is a perfect way to feel about “Lost Gems”.
