Sunhaze, “Buddy”

Post Author: Michael Brummett

“Buddy” is drawn from the latest work of Sunhaze, representing scattered evidence of their Californian roots. Throughout “Buddy”, surf-pop guitars and atmospheric synth nods to the original vision of founder Danae Labraña, with sun-baked hooks and a darker underlying message. Adding in San-Fran goers Priscilla del Rosario and Erin Walter, this bay-area group released Wishful Thinking this October.

Much clearer than ever in “Buddy” are their darker, emotional underpinnings, as the demise of relationships are portrayed in a keyhole-look through personal experiences. Authenticity reigning, “Buddy” from Sunhaze is one of several studs in their 11-track LP. Give them a listen on Bandcamp, and keep up with them on Facebook.
