A very promising line-up. Dramatic, taut, and key-heavy, Brooklyn’s Miracles are a synthesized post-punk counterpart to all the capable lo-fi bands taking the psych-garage route these days. With their debut album, they’ll join Creative Capitalism, the Baltimore-based label responsible for the Ponytail debut and release party bill-mates Lo Moda, whose crisp, guitar-and-violin pop is propelled by a rare underlying urgency. Plus HEALTH//DISCO electro remixers Thrust Lab. This sounds exceptionally promising.

The Museum of Arts and Design is a narrow vertical space perched on the edge of Columbus Circle since about a month ago (open at least, the building-in-progress has been drawing intrigued eyes for the last couple years. Apparently there are to be occasional concerts there: next (first?) is Vermont’s Sam Amidon , who frequently plays with the likes of Doveman and Nico Muhly. For this show, the chamber-folk guitarist/singer will be presenting a combination of songs, video work, and comics. 2 Columbus Circle, Midtown. All Ages. 7:30 to 9pm, $15.

• Dennis Nedry is pretty much always eating a huge handful of what appears to be roast beef.
• Rose Chase is weirdly hard to recognize with a blond wig and enormous glasses.
• Even with all the costume padding, Dennis Nedry manages to fly about five feet across the stage when his jeep crashes.
• Paleontologists proven wrong: Dilophosaur is armed, not with venom, but with silly string.
• Oh man, that Tyranosaur costume, even if I couldn’t get a good picture while he was breaking one of the jeeps in half.
