Sometimes you click “play” on a track and you’re immediately awash in wall of sound euphoria. Hailing from Vancouver, Belle Game has crafted just such a sonic cleanse in the form of “Spirit,” the lead single off of their forthcoming album, Fear/Nothing.
Building off of scene setting rhythms, cascading synths set up a glacial soundscape as Andrea Lo’s vocals skate across with mesmerizing mantras.
“‘Spirit’ was created through the relinquishing of logic allowing the music to take form through feeling with no end goal as opposed to structural forms,” shares Lo. “It’s the result of letting ourselves be playful, youthful and in joy, having no consequence or imposed judgment for what we created in that moment.”
