Time to care about Harlem Shakes again

Brooklyn indie-rock darlings of yore, finally deliver a full length record. The year is getting better already.

It seems like a lifetime ago that Impose raved about Harlem Shakes along with the rest of Brooklyn. The Shakes were playing sold out shows without having an album, it was catchy and oh so right. Burning Birthdays was a delightful tease, then nothing happened. The band went back to school, pop music was forgotten by the hip kids and here I sit wondering if anyone still cares.

Luckily Harlem Shakes got together with producer Chris Zane (Les Savy Fav, The Walkmen, Passion Pit, White Rabbits) to record its first full-length album, Technicolor Health, and we should care.

Harlem Shakes, “Strictly Game”

“Strictly Game” is the licensed single floating around the internets, but Shakes bassist Jose gave Impose permission to stream “Niagara Falls” as well. Hoo rah!

Technicolor Health is due March 24 on Gigantic Music.
