Los Angeles artist phem remains on a rise according to their own terms. Previously known as Liphemra, establishing a clothing line & brand of their own design & vision; phem was a fascination that sprung through the Low End Theory scenes, collaborating with Nocando, Gnah, G-Eazy to Fat Tony & more all the while honing an expansive aesthetic unlike any other. Recently recording with Robokid, phem presents the visual for “Judge Me” co-directed by Benjamin Whatley available now from Moving Castle.
“Judge Me” finds phem chanting down the naysayers, haters & merchants of negativity through illustrations of visceral & cathartic acts coupled with the artist’s statements of self-determination. Shattering champagne glasses, bottles, chomping down on religious relics & soaking bloodied knees & ripped denim in the bathtub; phem exerts an uncompromising ethos of autonomy against Robokid’s organic & riveting production that further elevates the relentless phenomenon of phem upward toward any atmospheric elevation or avenue they desire. Phem introduced the video with the following reflections:

Working with Benjamin Whatley on this video flipped the concept of judgment upside down…I feel so lucky to have friends who share the vision and I don’t take it for granted.
