Detroit by way of Los Angeles artist Alathea Reese, oka Dr Fadeaway returns with a debut listen to the new singe “Glow” released today via Manimal. Over the course of the past few years have found Reese playing with numerous musicians spanning the landscape from Motor City to Southern California & beyond where Alathea has honed in on a certain cadence in the Dr Fadeaway sound. Breaking out of the synth pop section, Alathea has elaborated upon arrangements of keys, strings & an assortment of rhythms that culminate in the creation of stratospheres that carry Reese’s untouched vocals even higher.
The latest song “Glow” accentuates the very aura of the Dr Fadeaway sound that Alathea Reese has been after. The track invites you to a disco of care, comfort & gentle boosts of confidence. “Glow” is the sound of life becoming covered in a chrysalis of rebirth, observing the changes both inward & outward as they occur in captivating states of both evolution by way of happenstance. From keys & guitars that reverberate gracefully with the subtext of further sentiments, Alathea’s “Glow” shines in the ways that we as people advance for the better where personal shifts take on constructive new realizations to live radically & wonderfully new lives. “Glow” is an exaltation of the self when realization is activated into proactive motions to change our world for the better (with the likes of which our weary globe has never seen before).

Alathea Reese shared the following insights on the new Dr Fadeaway tune “Glow”:

This tune was born out of a need for an outlet regarding real-life experience and a fixation on adding more dance-able percussion to our mix. In the same vein, we wanted to mirror that feeling you get when you’ve realized you might want to change your life or be a different person, or even move in a direction you never thought physically possible. Like a light went on that you never knew existed; doubting if you can handle it…you give in and say, what the hell?, and give it a good, long, confident wink.
