Copenhagen’s Rome in Reverse, lead by Antonella Pacifico along with Elena Montomoli & Ambra Nobile recently released their album Northern Lights on Abandon Building Records and we have a debut listen to the stirring ethereal synth bouquet of “Crush”. Anonella launched RIR circa 2014 and toured Denmark, Germany, Belgium & Luxembourg where fellow collaborator Sun Glitters resides, who collaborated with her on the Sun in Reverse album. Antonella has also performed various European collaborative shows with the previously showcased Arms and Sleepers, continuing to push the ambient & electronic envelope into the new frontiers.

“Crush” is the sound that will renew your faith in the electronic musical medium. Antonella, Elena & Ambra illustrate a kind of paranormal grace throughout the track. The constantly present and humming bass is carefully stitched into the atmosphere of the track where all the vocals and bullet train percussion sequences spiral all around like singing vapors being raised toward the heavenly skies. Rome in Reverse abides by motorik drum framework where all audio elements feel as if they are charging along a rapid transit route of their own design. “Crush” is the feeling of being completely crushed out & attracted to another person, where the feelings fire in a flood of endorphins that completely overtakes your entire being.

Rome in Reverse’s Northern Lights is available now from Abandon Building Records.
