Rachel Zoe launches first full collection not on QVC

Rachel Zoe collection, Rachel Zoe

Launch isn’t the best way to describe it, as there’s no word on when, where, or if the collection will hit the racks. We wouldn’t worry about it
too much though as the clothes are pretty… meh. Save for a tiered ruffled chiffon number,
Zoe steered away from her signature, over-accessorized boho look and onto
more tailored 70s inspired styles. The result is
something wearable albeit rather boring, and not in the Celine minimalist kind of way.

But what’s a story without a
little scandal? Shortly after the
collection’s debut in WWD, it was
noted via Twitpic that one of Zoe’s designs, a stand out black and white
sequined mini dress, is LIT-RALLY a copy
of a vintage dress
she once styled for Teen
Vogue
in 2007 and later wore on her eponymous TV show, The Rachel Zoe
Project. With the line between
inspiration and plagiarism stretched thinner than the skin on Zoe’s sternum (ba-dum ching!), it makes us wonder whether reality TV begets a
complete lack of integrity or if pregnancy now comes with amnesia. Either way, Marc Jacobs was busted for the same
crime
two years ago and he’s doing fine, so Rach is probably okay.

Righhhttt.
