Adée, Wasted On You

Multi-talented Swedish artist Adée returns with her exciting new single ‘Wasted On You’, released on 2nd February via Swedish label, Musichelp.
A name that isn’t foreign to those in the Swedish urban music scene, Adée began playing flute at the young age of nine however classical music wasn’t part of her future. Moving on 6 years, at the age of 15 she began to direct her focus on the art of singing and rap – a passion encouraged further by an inspiring teacher and strong support from her family.
To simple categorize Adée’s sound would be quite the task. She manages to effortlessly dance across soul, hip-hop and pop yet combine them all to create a sound of her own. This gift to to combine genres in a creative manner has led to the Swedish singer drawing comparisons with esteemed names such as Jill Scott, Erykah Badu and Iggy Azalea.
Adée released her debut EP ‘One Step Closer’ in 2013 and along with the success of the EP came a performance for the Swedish royal couple followed by a successful US tour.
Whether it be political, mental or the physical, beneath Adée’s there always remains a strong message. In the spring of 2014 came the release of ‘Woman’ off her ‘Honesty’ EP. A call for women’s rights, it became the official anthem for the world’s largest political conference on gender equality. A song centered on the theme of domestic violence and a tribute to women, the single is pure and raw and the expression touches your heart; a constant theme throughout Adee’s music.
The success, recognition and accolades continued into 2015 with the Swedish singer receiving a nomination for the Best Single of 2015 at the Scandinavian Soul Awards for her record ‘World On Fire’ alongside a nomination for Artist of the Year.
Summer of 2016 spawned an intensive touring schedule where the singer played shows in Sweden and abroad with shows at SXSW, Canadian Music Week, Midem in Cannes nd CMJ Music Marathon and in that september came the release of her debut album ‘Addicted’.
Not long after came recognition from acclaimed producer JKey(Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z) and top writers Justin Baron and Jonathan Waxma which led to Adée visiting New York to record music with the likes aforementioned.
The result of the visit is the new single ‘Wasted On You’, the first song of a series of songs to be released to her highly anticipated upcoming EP – one that goes closer to pop then Adée has previously ever done.
